--I am pretty new to chickens but I have been recycling plastic containers, I cut a hole or two part way up and then hang the containers. Chickens cannot roost on or poop in them. You can fix them to handle more feed by putting a piece of plastic pipe in the top of the container and cut a hole in the pipe so grain can feed out of it.
