I'd stockpile cartons for the future. Spray them lightly or rinse with with bleach water, sun them, then store them.

I know now that I may not think I need cartons because everyone I know who knows I have chickens tries to give me their empty cartons. I am sure though once I reach max production I will be regretting turning them down. Great idea to give discounts when the bring their own carton.
