Perhaps it first happened simply as a mutation in the serama line. Or, if silkies and seramas were interbred, perhaps only the offspring with silkie feathering but otherwise strict serama traits were allowed to live; all others were destroyed - as well as any in future generations that strayed from the serama traits. It really wouldn't take that long; it certainly could be done in one breeder's lifetime. Di
