Every small breeder I contacted didn't have chicks ready for months so I bought my first group (including the Silkies) from a big commercial hatchery (McMurray Hatcheries). They might not be show qualilty. The Ameraucanas will come from a serious exhibitor. I don't mind waiting on them, but I did want some chickens sooner rather than later, hence this first order.
If the chickens I get are show quality, I would love to show them. I'm just starting learning about chickens, but will be researching showing them.
