Easy Peasy! I ordered mine online. Just do a search of Mealworms. I received 1000 mealworms and a sack of wheat germ for bedding. I have since added a few more pounds of wheat germ. They are in a 10 gal aquarium.........but since it is dry, I guess it is called a terrarium.
I feed them a small potato sliced up about once a week or two. Carrots, pretty much any veg they can get some moisture and food from.
They are quiet, stay put, housetrained and fun to watch. Even more fun is watching visitors get freaked out over them.
The life cycle is egg, pupae, larva, beetle...........egg, pupae, larva, beetle............right now, I have LOTS of beetles and I am waiting for more pupae. Oh, they also do their own mortuary work by eating any casings or bodies.
Cool!
