I have 10 acres of pasture; half of it is good quality horse with the weeds killed out with pasture spray. I hand weed it when I see an undesirable weed. Maybe I should look into getting it cut and baled for part of the harvest.

Wow--that's a good buy.  I bought some straw for the kennels last year--I think it was $12.  If memory serves, it was around $10 when I last bought some for a foaling (let's see, Cricket's 16 now!)  Of course, we're not in a grain-raising area, so any straw has to be shipped some distance...  I'm pretty sure our neighbor charges more than that for the hay he sells from our fields, too.
