I hope your husband scared your neighbor "enough" to keep his dog home. My husband would never go over to his and his brother's renters and tell them to put the dog on a lead. Which is why I called the police. I had to take matters in my own hands when they were burning railroad ties and treated lumber, filling up my barns with smoke. I involved the police and fire depts. and the USDA.
I put my crossbow in the mud room. I doubt I will need it, the man who owns the dog took off about 10 minutes after the police. I had to put t posts in the ground to stop them from using the yard next door as a driveway; they have torn the grass up into a muddy lake. They have a turn around as part of their drive way.
I still can't believe they rented to them; they are the dredges of society. I stopped helping renovate the rentals because of problems such as this.

How many times is it "enough already" for the police to take action? I would be beyond frustrated if I were you. On a similar note, hubby caught neighbor's dog running through the cul de sac after seeing the dog previously peeing on our house. He is a full grown pointer type dog, hubby followed the dog home after he yelled at it to go home. Belongs to a boarder in the house directly across from us. He marched up to the back of the house where the owner of the dog was eating his post toasties and scared the dickens out of him as he marched up the deck steps and knocked on the door. We will see if that is enough to make him keep his dog on a leash. I understand that the DH was intense. 😉I know for a fact the house has an underground fence he could use. Grrr "Enough Already" with the irresponsible dog owners.
