Re: [CHICKENS-101] Duramycin/Tylan Stability?

Thank you Cathryn---you've been such a blessing!! I've been following the dosage recommendations that you sent me a few days ago, and already I can see a big difference. : )

I'd treat them all because of the situation they came out of,and put  a teaspoon of apple cider vinegar, along withpoultry vitamins in their water every day for a long time, then after a month or two back off the vitamins to 3-4 days a week.
I'd treat them for 14 days minimum because of the bad long term situation they came out of.
Mix up only what you need per 24 hour period. Tetracylcines/terramycines have to be changed every 24 hours or sooner if they start to turn brown. Tylan can last up to 3 days if kept out of the light. I'd cover my water dishes with paper sacks or feed sacks.
Division of
doses my way using rounded measurements for duramycin and tylan, please note I am not a vet and am sharing with you what I was told to do when I did rescue:
*tylan200/tylosin200 is 10cc per gallon = 5 ccs per half gallon= 3cc per quart= 2cc per pint
* tylan =10cc per gallon = 2 teaspoon.  5cc per half gallon = 1 teaspoon.  3cc 1/2 to a couple of drops more and *I'd put the same in a pint.
tylan tastes nasty. Never splash it on accident on your face by your mouth.
*duramycin is two tablespoons/6 teaspoons per gallon = 1 tblsp/3 teaspoons per half gallon = 1.5 teaspoons per *quart = 3/4 teaspoon per pint. I'd round the med on your spoon.

Hope this helps.
