Hi Jane and co,
We're in Cheshire. I've not tried feeding my hens any special cooked up mash, but they do get bread scraps and some veg scraps. Today we have put up a polytunnel and put their coop inside it to provide extra shelter for them. Even if the temperature isn't much different, at least the wind won't get to them. I might try your mix and see if it helps them out with this cold snap.
