I met a couple at a gas station near my parents home yesterday with leghorn hatching eggs. (Went to my parents to pick up their trash, shovel the side walks/by the garage where the snow plow couldn't get too, and drop off ice melt.) I had to put their 14 eggs, (2 extra for good wishes for hatching), in two separate cartons because they were too big and the eggs couldn't sit side by side, nor could the lid be closed. Nickie told me she has never seen such huge single yolk eggs in her entire life of having leghorns. Made me feed good. I am setting eggs in my incubator that weigh 2.8 oz and above for the next generation of leghorns and 2.30 and above for my white rocks.
What's another egg layer breed that lays nice huge eggs?
I have a nice breeder WLR standard cornish breeder hen from TX if someone needs a good breeder for chicks. Pick up only.
