They are also highly curious, any cat is and bobcats are too (bobcats are easy to trap with just a piece of a tin pie plate that shines in the sun, they always have to come see what it is). This one wasn't rabid, just watching to 'see' what was going on. No don't make it much better, and like I said, we are on watch because of the kids and a lions favorite course other than deer is horse meat. But some of that was chalked up to the youngness of the cat along with just being a cat. Good thing to remember though is, yes, if it doesn't run, be cautious cause it can be rabid.

When I was a kid a mountain lion came into our ranch and just sat down in the shade of our pickup my mother went out and shot him. Wild animals that are not showing fear of humans are usually rabid. That beautiful lion was tested and did have rabis.
