It's amazing how fast they grow. When I raised mine my husband bought so many meat birds and meat turkeys that I had not planned on that many had to be processed early. <Shudder> I never ever want to do that again! I had the entire egg layer pen, the pen across from them and half the yard fenced and the pens connected there were so many! Way too much work!!!

The first Cornishx I processed this year weighed 20 lbs live weight. She went first not because she was having any health problems but because she was FLYING over the fence and I was worried some predator was going to get a big meal before I did. I had to cook her like a turkey in my big roaster. First time I ever just ran the broilers with the egg layers once they got feathered. Biggest meat birds I've ever raised. I love it. Huge healthy birds.
