Don't really know... But with the pressure from the Feds to stock wolves (such friendly, cuddly, admirable creatures!) wherever they can--and then protect them from ever being controlled, whatever damage they do-- maybe cougars are another project!  I get a regular series of news items and essays from a retired Fish & Wildlife man named Jim Beers--he's convinced the Feds would like to discourage rural, homesteader types, and pressure from predators, with the predators protected more than the humans, would be one way to do it.  He could be right... Look how people all over are being discouraged or punished for having food gardens instead of lawns, or so-called "preppers" vilified for "hoarding" food (i.e., storing a sensible supply like most old-time families did years ago).  I love my country, but I fear my government... and I don't care which party that applies to, they are the same...
