I have an 18 month old Welsummer hen that has stopped laying. She just finished molting and was never a great layer to begin with. My question is, the space between her bones at the vent has closed to where two fingers really don't fit. Will she ever lay again? Is this just because of her molting and the time of year? I plan to cull her this spring but need to keep her through the winter for extra heat in the coop, I just wondered if she will lay any more eggs before she goes.
