This one is a home-made fly trap that someone submitted for a "horse hints" book I put out a few years back.
Take a coffee can or fruit jar and drop in a couple of tablespoons of hamburger in a big glob. Drill/poke several holes in the top--about the size of a lead pencil. When the hamburger gets ripe, the flies will go through the holes, but they can't get back out. Use 6 or 8 around the barn and manure pile. Coffee cans with the plastic tops work well. And the dead flies just add to the mayhem!
