<<First any available seafood is good protein, Second if there is any meat left in the tails you need to learn how to peel shrimp. :)>>
<g> Actually, I didn''t think there *was* anything much left in the tails... But DH likes to feed them things, so I figured it couldn't do them any harm. They just gathered round and stared at them at first, muttering questions, but once somebody grabbed one, they all scrummed for the rest!
They *did* eat something truly disgusting today, though. One of the horses is having a nasty bout with lymphangitis--finally has stopped weeping and the swelling subsiding a little, so since he's able to shuffle I brought him up to the yard to wash and Furacin the leg. The back of the pastern is peeling and raw now... Chickens all came running to see what was going on, and they were grabbing the bits of skin that had washed off and were eating those. Ugh. I hope Furacin and Betadine soap aren't lethal. Good Padi, though--with all those chickens squabbling under his feet, plus me shoving them away, he didn't move!
