[CHICKENS-101] Re: Watering

Hi Ginger, There is no easy solutions, not only that it gets worse. First off get the water fount up off the floor and out of the litter. Chickens can hop up a couple of feet if they have too. Allow a landing place just big enough around the fount. Now for particulars. Since you obviously live in what is sometimes refered to as the "Winter Wonderland" (I wonder who came up with that!) Anyway you will need to provide fresh water every day. That means having two water containers. One in the coop and the other thawing out in the kitchen. For a dozen hens I would recomend one gallon waterers. So having to clean out the water every day is good practice for what is to come. Sorry but that is really just the way it is.
