I think tht is a prob with Hybrid hens, I have hafd threee out of 6 hybrids develop this prob, one is fine now the other died this spring of old age but had been egg bound previously & recovered, and another my hybrid blue bell & she has had it 3 times in this year, I think dh will be putting her to sleep soon even though she is much better, because it keeps recurring :( I am never getting hybrids again, all our bantams have been fine.
