Most of my chicken breeds I raise are of the goes broody often varieties. I constantly have a hen or pullet trying to set on eggs. That said I don't let them most of the time yet. I don't currently have any proven broodies. You know the kind that have already hatched out a clutch. It's such a leap of faith to just let them set and hope for the best. Some of you that let your birds do the hatching. Do you just give eggs to the one being the most stuborn on the nest or how do you pick?
It is so the wrong time of year I know. I have a chance to get some serama eggs and I know they hatch better by broody than by incubator. Trying to decide. I'm sure my husband will freak about having chicks during cold months but he gets over it. Lol.
Oh decisions and chicken math.
