Anthony, That's really nice of you. I am looking forward to seeing the recipes. My egg layers do not eat much in the feed department, but it is there at all times for them if they need/want it. I keep them well supplied from the garden with veggies, weeds, and fresh soil daily, and let them out everyday. They tend to stay in unless I am out to watch over them because of so many hawks and stray dogs. They stay with me too. (I want to open the end of their pen again and dump several buckets sandy loam and weeds into their pen and level it before the rainy season starts.)
I had to let our renters know AGAIN and the LAST TIME, last night, that their no collar, no leash, no tags, beautiful brindled pit bull would be dead if it got a chicken or went into my barns. They let the dog out unsupervised while I had my barn doors open and the egg layers out. My egg layers told me of the danger. I'll call the police next time it is out like it was last night. I used to be able to open my all of pen doors and back door on my silkie barn and let them all out into the garden with me. Everything is gated in the back with fencing on the gates. In the evening they'd all go back to their pens. Hawks ruined that. There are way too many large hawks here for my egg layers to be out too. They will not go out to the gardens with me anymore, they stay by their pen door area.

I just finished reading a book by homer Jackson called chicken money, it was written in the early twentieth century and has some great points as far as what to feed and how much, he has several recipes for layer rations I would recommend it, I paid a buck to download it to my kindle. I will try post some of the recipes
