I'm sorry Lori.  Know that you're not alone when people try to alienate you because you see a rooster for WHO he is and not "what" he is.  Speciesism.  It always ticks me off that people can feel one way about one animal and a different way about another.  The only difference is the way WE feel about them. 

There is nothing funny about it.  I'm sorry Romeo passed away.

Romeo passed away yesterday, when his crop didn't empty yesterday morning, I knew it was just a matter of time, he was lucky, he fell asleep and just never woked up....No convulsions or nothing horrible..
As I'm burying him, I'm of course crying again, (you guys must think I'm a huge baby by now), but no one in my house gets it, perhaps it's me. But I get laughed at and hear things like "MOM, it's only a chicken". I don't get it? What exactly is so funny about Romeo passing?? They didn't laugh when our Mastiff passed away 6 years ago?So I have learned to just keep to myself.
