I use to raise red wigglers for composting worms.....I had them for about 3 years.......I bought 1000 to start........and kept them going from those. I just reordered somemore worms and also ordered some mealworms. I have bought from this place before and have had very good responce from them.
The worms are not hard to raise. If you want an easy way to set them up I can show you on my web page how I did it.

I have found that my chickens ADORE mealworms. They got dried mealworms
first, and went insane.
Then I found live "superworms" (giant mealworms) at the localpet shop.
I have six POL red star pullets, and they fought over those 50
superworms, even playing tug-a-war over them.
It's too bad the live ones are so expensive (50 for $5.75)...!

I haven't ordered from them, yet, but I'm planning to do so, soon.
If you have more chickens than my paltry half-dozen, you'll need more.
Is it a coincidence that they started laying the day after their first
