Re: [CHICKENS-101] Testosterone poisoning rears its ugly head

From what I have read it is common the roosters are in their puberty stage and are trying to mount the hens. Mine are exhibiting the same behavior.

What should I do with my 11 week old cockerels?

Okay, so I am new at this chicken thing and am wishing that my 3 cockerels came with a book on what to expect or an instruction manual. Are they always so mean to the pullets? I expected some jockeying for position and maybe some aggression between the guys, but the constant attacks on the poor girls is alarming me. And all my chickens are the same age, so I don't have any older hens to give the young men some perspective. Do I need to get a Mrs Robinson Chicken to teach them how to court the young girls properly? Should I separate them until the hormonal surge has passed?

I really feel badly for my girls…any advice is welcome here.
