I plan on venison in the fall. In a little bit I am going to check and see if they are in the garden again with my truck keys in my hand. I was so ticked that the deer ate almost all of the videla onions yesterday, that I nearly got the one sitting under the cherry tree last night. It barely stumbled sideways out of the way. There is nothing but weeds we left around the few plants in hopes of camo'ing them. :( It was all planted on it's way to a great garden at one time. I have moved some of the plants but I doubt they will make because of being eaten down over and over.
I'm locking my chicken barns up tight at night right now too. Caught a little opossum two nights in a row, figure there are at least 16 more.

<<Any one else have over tame deer? >>
The winter my dad was in hospital, I drove Mother to see him every night--we'd come up our long driveway, and the deer would be munching the periwinkles on the bank. Then they moved to the periwinkles right beside the house--I'd look out the window here beside the computer, and there one would be. (Come to think, that was also the year they were herding up with my mare, who was alone for that one year...)
Umm... How do you feel about venison? (Of course, season won't be open for a while...) But then you could enjoy the garden sort of second hand!
