Re: [CHICKENS-101] Egg retrieval

Welcome to the group!
I have no idea how to make something to retrieve eggs from under things other than stooping and picking it up.
Good luck, I hope someone else can help you.

Subject: [CHICKENS-101] Egg retrieval

New group member here.

I've had chickens for several years but my flock from two years ago succumbed to raccoon and 'possum attacks. So I decided not to restart until I built a coop and run that was more varmint-proof.

This year I have a new flock raised from day-old chicks received last February. Just starting to get regular, farm-fresh eggs again. How I missed them!

Anyway, I have one young hen that likes to lay under the roosts (we've all been there, right)? It seems to me there ought to be a device available to retrieve eggs from such out-of-the-way locations without having to stoop, move things around, or disturb the birds so much as I do.

Anyone heard of such a thing? Anyone built such a thing?

Bruce
