Re: [CHICKENS-101] broody hens and other hens not laying

Thanks, that is what I thought. Hopefully the weather will break soon and things will get back to normal.

It is really hot and dry here - we are in a stage 2 drought since April
and for the first time in history the government is considering calling
a stage 3 drought in the area of the province where we live. We are
keeping the hens watered and they free range so they are able to find
shade all day. Could this be why they aren't laying?

Yes. I recommend putting fabric over a run for them to get shade or fence them in under a tree.

When they get really hot they stop laying to conserve energy.
