Hi Mandy, We had a gorgeous, young German Shepherd female who one day, came trotting from the barn, head high, proudly carrying a dead barred rock hen. She laid the hen at my feet....she was so proud of herself in supporting the family!! Poor girl found out that was NOT a good thing to bring to mom. I yelled "NO CHICKENS"! I tied her on a very short lead to a fence, left the chicken outside of her reach for the entire day. Every time my husband or I walked into the yard we scolded her and yelled loudly, "NO CHICKENS"! By the end of the day she was convinced she did not like chickens anymore and never touched them again for the rest of her life. This really worked with our dog, everyone is different! Best of luck with yours...Kathy Tomlinson

He was taken on a walk on leash around the farm this morning & he lunged for a rooster. I pulled on the collar *hard* and yelled NO. I figured me & hubby would do this for a while and see if we can make him understand the poultry are off his dinner menu. I'm considering a shock collar too (though not sure what brand to get). Any other ideas? Training books, videos? I would really like for him to work out. Thanks.
