Gary, One of my old barred rocks would crow Ahh OoooGahhhh. It was so funny! She laid faithfully her split shell egg every other day, then every third day up until she died at 16 yrs and some months. (dog attack caused her egg to split to and reattach after she healed- big vet bill to save her and her sister). I have to stop being tired and get moving soon. Only one more week and a weekend of school.

Subject: RE: [CHICKENS-101] Crowing Hen
When no roosters are present sometimes a dominant Hen will take lead role. They have been known to crow. I've only read this, never witnessed it myself.
