[CHICKENS-101] Re: [OT] Quail Questions

 

Hi Brenda, That is not a "yes or no" question. Usually, one might say size maters. That is if there is a big difference in size, the smaller individuals are at a disadvantage and frequently do not survive the encounter. On the other hand if the birds are raised together they may not only overcome the obstacle but in some cases the smaller birds can become dominant. If the smaller birds have a place within the coop that they can excape too their chance of survival is increased. To be perfectly realistic about the only way you will know is to try it. Be aware that nature is not on your side.
