I think I'd also get a sample of those maggots and have the vet identify at them. If they are screw worms, you don't want them to hatch in that dumpster or the landfill they end up in. I don't know what part of the US you are located in but if you are in the south, they are a possibility. They could also be Bot Flies as Cathryn mentioned, and I'd want to kill all those larvae also if it were me.
