Your hens will share nesting boxes.  I have 12 in my coop for 18 hens and they use 3 of the nests.  Go figure.  SUsan

I've been looking at plans for building a chicken coop for my new chicks. I noticed that most plans don't have nesting boxes for all of the hens. For example, the plans may say the coop is for 6-8 hens, but it will only have 4 nesting boxes.
Is that okay? Or should I provide a nesting box for each hen?
