Roosters take vacations off and on. They breed the hens but have low sperm counts. I thought a breeder was pulling my leg until my vet told me it is true. Sunlight/daylight hours, molting, ET affects roosters too. Remember the article about hens dumping sperm...kind of makes you wonder doesn't it?

Subject: [CHICKENS-101] Starting to get a tad worried...
We put some eggs in the incubator on Friday evening (16ea)... as of last night (monday) the 3 we candled are not showing any sign of anything...
Tonight we are going to candle them all.. and have decided not to call it quits till day 8 but I am wondering whats going on (or not). The temp/humidity is right..
We have two roosters, both seem to be doing what they need to be...
If none of these work we will just go buy chicks for now, but want to figure out what went wrong...
Any ideas where to look for issues? What could be wrong?
