A determined skunk dug a hole into my hen house last night. The stink pot tried my Brahma coop but the ground was too hard so he moved to my laying coop where he met with success. He proceeded to kill 4 of my sweet girls without stopping to eat anything. I've never heard of a skunk joy killing before.
Tonight the poor remaining ladies were too afraid to go into their coop and found perches in the tallest trees. I got some of them down and put them in their coop. They screamed in terror. It was heart wrenching and I can only hope that I was right in trying to convince them that the coop is safe again. I don't know if I'll ever get the others back into the coop.
The offending skunk has a bullet in his head but I am sure he wasn't the last skunk on the planet.
