[CHICKENS-101] Americanas

 

Tractor Supply sent me an email saying its that time of year again, chicks and ducklings for sale. Americanas for $1.99. I tried to resist, but failed. Went there yesterday and came home with 6 Americanas and 2 White Peking ducklings. Last time i did this i ended up with 6 RIR's roosters and 2 hens. You would think i'd have learned something Now I have questions...... can the chicks and ducklings be together? I have a piece of cardboard separating them, but the chicks keep squeezing thru to the other side. Also, how long do they need the heat lamp/light? I'm in Central Florida. This is my first time to have Americanas. Will the roosters be aggressive? I appreciate any information and advice. Thanks, Nance Central FL
