Allen if it was just the egg shell it might of been your hen. Animals from my experience eat or take the whole egg. Chicken only eat whats on the inside.

Oh, how I know what you mean. I'm pissed at the chicken for all the food she eats as evidenced by the huge poops. And for nothing. I have no qualms about eating her which I keep telling her, but she just shrugs her wings and hides under the porch.

I did crawl under there today. It's low and there's all kinds of nails sticking down. I didn't see anything so I got the rake out and started to rake it out. Hmm. Found an empty egg shell. Now what could have eaten the egg? Would cats eat eggs? We have a woman across the street who has a dozen of the furry creatures. I hope it was one of them. I hate to think there might be something else crawling around my yard.
