Re: [CHICKENS-101] Re: Egg consistency? How to adjust?

<<In Europe it is a common practice to leave eggs in a bowl or basket on the counter in the kitchen. In nature it may take a hen a week to ten days to lay a full clutch of eggs so that long should be OK.>>

I read somewhere that in France, washed eggs can not be sold as in-shell, they have to go for mixes, dried eggs, etc.  They appreciate the bloom!

Thinking of eggs on the counter--I've seen a gadget (can't think what it's called now) that's a basket-y sort of spiral wire "chute" for egg storage.  You put the eggs in at the top, they roll down, and at the bottom you take out the eggs in the order they were laid, thus making sure you use up the older eggs first.  Seemed like a wonderful idea, but they seemed to be available only in England.  Figured I'd wait until I didn't have to pay that sort of shipping.  (Hubby said there was NO WAY he could make one, LOL!)
