you are welcome. LOL on the staying away, I had that idea also, didn't want any RIR roosters and was just gonna have my one cross freecycle guy and a EE one, and I ended up with 6. Not on purpose. LOL I don't know on the dark eggs, Cherry Eggers from Cackle are supposed to lay very dark brown. All of my flock lays brown but the EE's, but they are varying degrees of brown also, and honestly I couldn't tell you who was laying what, since they are all mixed. LOL

I might try raising some chicks (I have a really nice sweet rooster -
