Re: [CHICKENS-101] Dragging foot?

If there is no sign of injury, I asap would grind 5-6 children's vitamins with minerals into powder, carefully mix with a little bit of water and sugar and feed it to my chicken. Do this 3-4 days in a row.  I would also put b vitamins and poultry vitamins in her water with a bit of something sweet to get her to drink it.  I'd put her in a large box with bedding or shredded paper, in the house so I could feed her, her vitamin water carefully, drops at a time, with a spoon.  Plus I can make sure she is eating fine.  If there is no injury, I;d say it is nutritional before looking to anyother problem.  Time is not on the chicken's side for treatment because the muscles can become permenantly impaired.  Allow about 7-10 days for treatment to work.   Please keep us posted and give us more info.

Subject: [CHICKENS-101] Dragging foot?

One of my girls has been limping and dragging her foot. I picked her up and could find no sign of injury, though it did feel warmer than the other. Any ideas? How do you go about helping her? Should I splint it?
thanks. She is eating, drinking and laying, hanging out with her friends...
thanks!
Mary
