RE: [CHICKENS-101] Re: Ivermectin

Sue,
> I agree that when diluting Ivermectin for *injection*, propylene glycol
must be used

are you saying injecting propylene glycol? I have never heard of the
injectable ivermectin being diluted for injection, it's given straight out
of the bottle if injected.

>however, I have diluted it in drinking water for years without a problem.
I just stir it well after adding it to drinking water and it mixes nicely.

it does not mix as in evenly dispersed throughout and remaining stable, if
you take a clear glass of water and put a few ml of the injectable
ivermectin into it, stirr well and then let it sit for half an hour you
will see that the ivermectin settles on the bottom, if you want to use
ivermectin in drinking water, you can use the oral sheep drench, just have
to adjust the dosing at it is not 1%, just working off memory here, the 1 %
injectable is 10.000 mcg per ml, the sheep drench I believe is 800 mcg,
they do sell a 1% oral ivermectin in Australia if you wanted to use a 1 %
oral solution.
