Donna, I would not put ducks on a pond with wild water fowl. The wild water fowl carry in diseases with them to the domestic duck flocks who then carry it up to the chickens. With what is in the news today, I would avoid letting the wild mix with my ducks. AI can be carried by wild water fowl; non pathogenic and pathogenic. Murphy's Law is always lurking here which is why I do not use my pond in the lower horse pasture for water fowl. In fact is fenced off from the main pasture. Some people may do so with only mycoplasma, choryza, and virus problems carried from wild fowl to other poultry, but it is not worth the risk to me.

Speaking of ducks. I want to get some this spring for our backyard pond. We have wild mallards and geese that visit our pond. Will these wild birds affect a domestic flock?
