[CHICKENS-101] Re: STUD ROOSTER SERVICE?

 

Hi...My county will allow chickens, but no rooster. What to do in this
case?

Hi Brenda,

My permit won't let me have roosters. Wouldn't you know the first 4 chicks I got were ALL roos! We re-homed 2 and sold the last two to a local butcher. I couldn't eat what I had named and petted for 4 months. Freecycle.org is where I listed for the first two. Second time around didn't work as so many others had tried to re-home theirs the same way. Now I know where I can take them if need be. But I am thinking about getting some meat birds this year. No naming. No petting. And I know someone who will butcher them for me for some of the birds.
