Just thinking here, propylene glycol is sweet tasting (sugary) and is often used to boost glucose levels. If it was combined with antifreeze as a suspension agent, that may explain the 'sweet' taste in antifreeze that causes animals to indulge in lapping it up from driveways....fatally so.
Also, the I.D. channel comes to mind. It appears that unhappy wives are successful in killing their husbands with antifreeze due to it's sweetness; hubby slurps down a drink with antifreeze without a clue.
