[CHICKENS-101] Re: Cooper's hawk now chicken noises

 

Hi Rosemary. Isn't it amazing the different sounds a chicken can make.

I have one that follows me round quietly chirping to me as if she is telling me the latest gossip or telling tales on her mates.

Last week dh & me re-homed our 2 cockerals, Big boy & Boss. I collected them from the coop at dark.

As I carefully took them off the perches I am 99.9 % certain that the choc Wyandotte hen coo'd a sad farewell as if to say ,  'where are you taking my boys, please don't take them'.

My heart felt so heavy. The girls are all fine even though the boys are gone ( To a lovely big pig farm with lots of free range space with other chooks.)

But there are so many different sounds, like the funny noises they make when laying an egg, noises the mum makes when encouraging her chicks to eat, sounds of danger encrouching, sounds of treats arriving. LOl. I love it ! Jane & co
