Hi Everyone, I have been lurking the past several months...reading reviewing and learning as many newbies have. I like to just read and not say much and I am sure there are many more who use this group in the same way. I really don't care about trashing anyone and want all of you to know that experienced chicken people are really needed in this group and we don't need anyone to "QUIT" the group. This is a list for DISCUSSION...so lets keep it that way. The tips on keeping them warm in winter and cool in summer have been so helpful! I am a retired rural carrier(who delivered hundreds of chicks)from Michigan who now has time for chickens again. This year I began buying eggs on eBay and have been somewhat successful in hatching some nicer birds than are available locally. Yup, USPS delivered my eggs and NONE were cracked or broken, and I had MANY boxes delivered here.. I used incubators then broody hens to then raise these chicklets. Right now my chickies are enjoying squash,tomatoes and other goodies from our frosted huge vegetable garden. I would love to meet Catherine...I travel to Howell, Michigan quite often, and she is not far from there....Again, PLEASE...we need all of you. Kathy....From MAYBEE, Michigan
