21 days are up, I got to candle her eggs today...only 2 look good the rest clear or newer from the other gals deposit. I have about 13 in mine but they are the newer eggs and 2 that look good. I've pulled out bad eggs one was a dead in shell. I understand the problem of her being too small to cover, that is why I set up the incubator.. It's easy to see the bad eggs.........when you candle, they are the ones that stuff giggles........We are going to have a freeze..........and I'm hoping that her's will be ok, or should I pull the good ones..?
She's a small old english not bantam... and she's on some kind of big red chicken which I haven't figure out what kind. Large eggs...breed like a RIR but not. They are golden lace type of a chicken. Huge, Anyway, it's a hit an miss here.........with the other chicken keeps laying eggs in her nest. Since I've never done chickens. I can't tell but the rooster is too big to fertalize her. So her own eggs aren't viable. I'm working on 24 days..........still no babies other than the dead in shell. At what time can you hear them?
