Ok,my beautiful girls (seven) have become adventuresome and like to go outside of their 1/4 acre fenced-in-area close to our house so we can see and hear them. They are flying over the fence into the front where unfortunately we live on a pretty busy road, into the neighbors yard, and into the way-back of our property which backs up to the woods.
I do not like keeping them only in their pen, which is 12x12 and completely covered with wire, latches, etc...they love to free-range. They look at me with such pleading eyes when I lock them up! really they do!!
I am torn between clipping feathers and keeping them inside their big yard, but possibly taking away their ability to fly for defense if needed...
thoughts please!
thanks
Mary
