Re: [CHICKENS-101] Re: Winter in here

Sounds like a really good set up!  I'd get which over one you prefer.  Goose eggs are awesome and if you get non flying geese you don't have to worry about them taking off.  Plus geese are great watch dogs.  Ducks are nice too, but I'd get non flying ducks so they don't take off.

Space has been the problem.  Picture this if you were standing on the back porch -extending the backyard fence out to the storage house and back up around the fruit trees to the right of the house?  I would be about 1/2 acre.  Is that enough.  I would have to put in a little pond also.  I guess a few ducks would be better than a pair of geese.  I do have the free range backyard guineas for noise.  What \do you think?

I got 5 teenage Seramas from Grandpa Jack and Pam yesterday.  One black and green cockrel, a gold splash cockrel and gold splash pullets.  Couldn't resist.  I guess they will live in the basement this winter.  Hope to have some babies this spring/summer.

Hope you are taking care of yourself!   Hugs, Susan
