OK Rebecca, here goes...  a.) what kind of chickens do you have?  I have 15 Rhode Island Reds (no Roosters) b.) do you keep them for meat? eggs? both? strictly entertainment?    Eggs, for now.   I enjoy them too.  c.) where do you live (what state, province, country)? Extreme Western NC    d.) why did you chose this type chicken?  I did some research and found that the RIR is weather tollerant and hardy.  They lay an egg each almost every day (I'm getting 12-14 eggs/day out of 15 hens).  They lay brown eggs.
