[CHICKENS-101] Re: How much does it cost in grain to raise a layer hen?

I am QUITE anal when it comes to tracking expenses down and input EVER SINGLE RECEIPT we get each month for everything we spend. So actually I can tell you EXACTLY how much we spent.

We got 35 Rhode Island Reds in February and feed them until the 1st of July when they started laying and it cost $127.50 total in ONLY feed.

That works out to $3.64 per chicken. There are 5 roosters in the mix.

How's that :-)
