Marla,
Dovey DID have three girls of his own, when we brought him and the girls
home as wee chicks, but he was pretty rough with them, pecking them hard
in the head. I have him by himself, and we let him out to play and
explore, but he likes to sneak up behind us or confront us and flog us.
But let another rooster out with him and he either is a bully or runs
scared. I would be afraid to put any more girls in with him. But Dovey
likes getting his mane groomed by me or hubby, and won't bite us while
we are grooming him. When we put him down, we are fair game, though.
Dovey is living up to his Russian name (Dov = "Bear").
